Maureen Denise McCormick, youngest daughter and sole daughter from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills on 5 August 1956. Her mother was at home and was an aspiring stay-at-home-mom. Michael Dennis Kevin was one of one of her siblings. McCormick started dancing and singing at an early age and would often perform puppet shows for children in her community. When McCormick was six, she was crowned the winner of an award called Baby Miss San Fernando Valley. The Jack Wormser Agency then contacted her and asked whether she'd like to go into show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964 when she appeared in an advertisement for Mattel's newly released doll "Baby Pattaburp."
